Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils to help deal with everyday stresses and emotional well-being. In the UK, aromatherapy is usually the application of aromatic essential oils to the skin during a massage. The essential oils are always diluted in a carrier oil before application. In my treatments I also encourage the inhalation of essential oils by putting them in a bowl or on a tissue under the face hole of the massage couch. If appropriate I can also combine essential oils with oils, creams, shower gels and balms for use at home.
